A happy finalist: Raynard Ndagire Gorret

What a recognition! Once again, Gejja Women Foundation has been recognized for its commitment. This time as part of the 6th season of the Rising Woman campaign by DFCU Bank, a leading banking and financial services company based in Uganda.

Specifically, the Gejja team was recognized for its work to improve menstrual health. After her convincing presentation of the Mpigi projects, Raynard Ndagire Gorret was selected as one of the ten finalists of the competition. In recognition of her presentation, she received a prize and certificate, as well as an offer to attend a mentoring and business training course in Nairobi next year to advance the Gejja business.

The Rising Woman campaign was launched in 2018. It focuses on helping Ugandan businesswomen start sustainable businesses by improving access to information, training, and financial solutions.

The theme of this year’s campaign was: “Empowering Entrepreneurs to Succeed.” Hundreds of participants from across the country had pitched their business ideas over the past few months, hoping for a chance to win.

“This award is fantastic,” said Raynard, “because it reinforces our commitment to improving menstrual hygiene and opens up new roads to advance our Gejja Foundation.
